In 2021, while working in the field of environmental pollution assessment, Aleksandr Semichev decided to explore a new direction — recycling of hard-to-utilize waste. One such waste type was old solar panels, and the growing issue of their disposal became more urgent due to the rapid development of renewable energy.

In collaboration with LETI University, we began scientific research focused on developing solar panel recycling technologies. In early 2023, we launched the first practical tests of a prototype. Results exceeded expectations: the technology effectively separated solar panel components without using toxic chemicals, while preserving the high purity of recovered materials.

Convinced of the method's effectiveness, we decided to develop an industrial version of the installation. Spain was chosen as the key location for further development due to its particularly high demand for solar panel recycling. In early 2024, we held consultations with the University of Cádiz, where we met stakeholders interested in the project.
